NEW YORK THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS

WITHIN A 24 HOUR PERIOD 3 DOORMEN ARE MURDERED.  TERRY REILLY A 28 YEAR OLD DOOORMAN WITNESSES ONE OF THE MURDERS.  AFTER WHICH A SERIES OF ATTEMPTS ON TERRY’S LIFE OCCUR.

HE BEFRIENDS LINDA WHOSE FATHER TERRY SAW MURDERED.  AND THE PAIR SET OUT TO FIND THE KILLER, BUT THE HUNTERS SOON BECOME THE HUNTED, STALKED BY THE KILLER, PERSUED BY TERRORISTS AND SET UP BY THE POLICE.

 

Several little tools I noticed pretty early on that the blurb writers used a LOT in the 80's: CAPITAL LETTERS; Exclamation marks; And the classic dot dot dot...

 

Gratuitous use of capital letters aside though this is a great piece of cover art isn't it?

Also of interest with this one is the presence of a certain Mr Bradley Whitford (Aka Josh Lyman out of the West Wing)...he did have a little more hair once...

A quick search of the internet revels this little gem also goes under the title: Dead as a Doorman! I can't decide if it's better or not.
