About the Writer

Timtiwid

Tim like the name, ti like the neckware, wid rhymes with squid.  Timtiwid, stands for this is me -  this is what I do, and is a ’side’ project run by me to showcase the possibilities for self-promotion in the world of amateur arts.

Part of the project are 3 ‘live’ sites that are set up in different ways, but that serve the same purpose;

timtiwid.com/theblog = from the ages of about 18 – 23 I fancied myself as a bit of a writer; songs, poems, short stories, and what I have fondly called ‘uncategorized.’  Some are good, some are bad, some are…uncategorizable, but instead of gathering dust in a notebook, they make for good online content. This site has been designed with a Wordpress theme that allows you to post infrequently, but draws maximum attention to each post.

timtiwid.com/thecollection = I have always been a collector, and my current passion is for vintage videos, particularly those with arty front covers and really rotton blurbs.  This site is a mixture of drawings and text, but there is also an online shop.  I added the shop because I thought there might be a market for full size downloads of the video’s  covers (the image can be taken to a print shop so it can go on a cup, t-shirt, note book etc).  Because of the content of the site, I also added an Amazon widget, so if anyone actually wants to see these films, they can see if they are available at Amazon.  This is different from just adding random adverts, because the Amazon widget ‘reads’ the web page and advertises videos from the main genres listed on the blog page.  Clever or what!

timtiwid.com/thenevshow = If I could spend my days doing only 1 thing, that 1 thing would be drawing comic strips.  I spent years learning the art, and don’t do it nearly enough these days.  The comic strip I chose to highlight is a one that also has a story behind the story.  The Nev Show is the first comic strip I spent any time producing, and I have added thoughts and ‘behind the scenes’ info to each strip.  The theme for this site was picked because of the way it displays both the comic strip itself and the text underneath.

And last but not least;

timtiwid.com = The page that brings everything together.  What I'm reading, what I'm seeing, why I'm making changes, feedback from visitors etc.  Chock full of news and reviews.

Check the blog for updates – we’ve only just begun!
